Calling all Sourdough Lovers! We've got a special treat for you!
We are excited to welcome Crystal Devoe back to the studio! She will be teaching the absolute art that baking sourdough bread is and we'll be creating personalized decor for our home kitchens as well!
In this workshop, we will focus on how to mix, knead, stretch, and shape Sourdough loaves. You will prepare your own dough, & shape a loaf of prepared Country Sourdough for you to take home and bake. You will also learn about the ingredients, understanding the fermentation process, and how to improve your starter to name a few things.
You will receive a detailed printed recipe with tips, a dehydrated sourdough starter, and a lame blade for scoring your crafted sourdough loaves. The class will last approximately 3 hours, depending on the group size. Please bring a beverage, a snack if needed, your favorite apron, and a notebook for note-taking. If you'd like to use your own starter with the loaf we prepare in class, please bring 125 grams (it will need to be at peak and ready to use when you arrive).
The best vessel for sourdough baking is a cast iron Dutch oven, so I recommend ordering a 5 or 6-quart cast iron Dutch oven in advance, although you do not need to bring one to class. If you do not have a dutch oven we will review other ways you can bake Sourdough bread.
This course is a great class for new or advanced individuals who want to learn how to make Artisan Sourdough bread. With just three simple ingredients, you can bring this old-world skill back into your daily life, whether you work full-time, remotely, or anything in between. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and have fun! I wish you a beautiful journey of discovery as you learn the art of sourdough!
